The weather started pretty cold.  We couldn't recognize anybody on the dog wagon. And I heard somebody looking for more gloves at noon.  But it didn't cut into the size of the crowd very much.

They moved at least 3 covies of birds in the morning.  None in the afternoon.  Scenting conditions must have been a problem, guess they went where resident birds were found in the morning - to no avail  For those of you who know the place - there has always been a covey (large) behind the barking-dog house, and one at the cemetary.

Anyway, they posted TBF's HotRoddin' Howie  owner Ralph Pratt, handler Ken Cherry,  from the first brace.

No other dogs were posted.

God, its been a loooooooooooong 2 days.  We are barely getting 6 braces a day run.  For some reason things are going along slooooooooow.  Haven't figured it out yet.  Probably never will.

No rain as yet but cold as a well digger's shovel in the mornings.

Zook's party was tonight.........and a good time is being had by all as this is being written (?)..........Great food and drinks and words from  Ron, even the joke!!!!

Good bird work was extremely scarce with several non-productives both AM & PM.
Dog that was posted run by Ray Trimble is Briscoe's Buddy Boy.  Ray may foregive Mary Jo one of these days....she was so excited she cut off Briscoe's head when trying to get his picture while on point.

That's all folks...........supposed to be colder and rainy starting tomorrow.

Another glorious day in paradise is coming to an end.

They posted another dog today.  Boy if it keeps on like this we will know who the winners are long before they come up with the paperwork.

Last years winner is in the last brace, there is hope for us all.

Posted dog today was Pride & Joy's Bunch of Annie.  owner  Frank & Donna Pride, handler Frank, with Donna on the dog wagon
watching it all.

I guess, according to the judge, she had a spectacular race, and one superb find.   What more does one need? ? ?

Birds:  Only two dogs were observed on birds, but the other dog was  picked up before his hour was over.

Judge says Pride's covey, other dog covey and 3 ridden up.  thats not so strange, but the funny thing was they were all new covies.
they have not been found before.  This was in totally new places.  So, I guess we keep hoping.

New covies every day keeps reminding us how necessary a good bird dog, with a good nose can be.

Hello folks.  Just ANOTHER day in Paradise.  Dense fog held up the start of
the running until the rain started, so running was postponed  until Noon.  So
we all returned to the Clubhouse.......had lunch..........and waited, and
waited, and waited...........THEN came the thunder and lightening.  And the judge
from Florida says there's no way he's going out there in the thunder and
lightening and the ppl from the West Coast dittoed that remark.

Since no dogs ran we  assume that no dogs were posted.

This is the first time Rheta can remember missing an entire day of field
trialing due to weather, especially rain.

Running resumes at 8 AM on Friday, with a little bit of luck.
