Monday, November 22, 2004      (as reported by Linda Langford)

6 braces ran on Monday.  Only 3 had birdwork.   J&M Clark's Trademark (Crawford) and Apache (Maxwell), both in the 4th brace on course 1 had finds,   Apache at about 5 mins and Clark at about 58 minutes, and both handled them in order, and both were posted for the day.   Blueridge Major Adventure (Downing) had two finds in the 6th brace on course 3 but was not in sight at time, so he was out of contention.   Brisco Buddy Boy (Trimble) was lost on course 2 in the 2nd brace, and finally found around 7:30pm that evening.

Rain stayed away most of the day. It only came down for about 10-15 minute intervals just before the lunch break.

3 braces ran on Tuesday.   Only one had birdwork  (that I'm aware of)  7b J&M Pete's Turnin' Trix (Crawford).  Rain & Thunder  started up as we broke for lunch.   Jerry McGee announced an hour delay to allow the storm to pass.  Storm hung around all afternoon and all through the night, so we were scheduled to breakaway at 8am with brace 10 on Wednesday morning.

It's WEDNESDAY afternoon, and braces 10-12 ran this morning.  I haven't heard that there was any birdwork this morning.   Braces 13-15 are out this afternoon.    The temperatures have dropped 25 degrees, it's 42 degrees right now.  The rain has stopped but its very damp in the air, and we've had some pretty decent winds from time to time.

OK, today two more dogs got posted:  Just Call Me Roy (Cherry) from brace 15a who ran course 3 in the afternoon, and Smarteyes-Joker (Ralph) from brace 14b who ran on course 2 in the afternoon.   It sounds like the birds were trying to dry out a little this afternoon, as some large coveys were moved.   I think most of the afternoon dogs had birds today.    We start tomorrow at 8am with brace 16.   It's going to be a chilly night, temperatures are 35 degrees right now, and dropping.   Freeze warnings are in effect till 8am Thursday morning.

Thursday, November 25, 2004

Two more dogs posted today.  Shady's Tia Maria (Little) from 19b who ran on course 1 in the afternoon, and  Make It A Bud Light (Tate) from 16b who also ran on course 1 this morning.    It was pretty frosty and cold this morning in the low 30's, but it's stayed dry and been warming up all day and the sun came out this afternoon.   We also enjoyed a beautiful sunset this evening, and the evening temp is 48-50 degrees.   I don't have exact count on birds, but I believe there were birds seen throughout the day.   3 dogs left to run tomorrow.
